Being part of a Fairtrade cooperative, she helps to decide how the Fairtrade Premium, the extra sum of money cooperatives earn for being Fairtrade certified, is spent. She uses some of the extra funds that her cooperative earns through the Fairtrade Premium to send her children to school and develop new business activities to increase her income and be less vulnerable to the effects of climate change and volatile cocoa production. She also works with women in her community to improve productivity for cocoa farmers by setting up initiatives like planting shade trees on their farms to mitigate the effects of climate change and build resilence in their crops.
